SMALL FOOT Wooden Play Eggs for Children’s Kitchens

For little chefs, it’s the small details that make a play kitchen feel real. SMALL FOOT wooden play eggs are a charming role-play set for children aged 2+ – four wooden eggs presented in a realistic egg carton, with each egg designed to split into two halves using a practical hook-and-loop fastening.

This simple yet thoughtfully designed wooden pretend food set helps children imitate everyday situations, prepare breakfast for dolls, “bake” cakes, shop in a play store or create their own restaurant with friends.

A small kitchen, endless ideas

The split-apart eggs make pretend play feel more realistic – children can “crack” them into a pan, add them to an imaginary recipe or put the halves back together again. This kind of hands-on play encourages imagination, creativity and role play, while also helping children understand the sequence of everyday actions.

When children play together, they practise sharing, cooperation, communication and taking on different roles, which also supports social and emotional development.

For parents, this is a compact and easy-to-store play kitchen accessory that adds a surprising amount of variety to an existing toy kitchen, play shop or café setup.

Natural wooden design for a modern children’s room

The compact size, wooden material and classic food-inspired design fit naturally into a Montessori-inspired, Scandinavian or natural-style children’s room. The design is not only decorative – every element has a practical purpose, and after play all four eggs can be neatly stored back in the carton.

This also helps children develop simple habits around tidying up and putting toys back in their place independently.

How can children use them in play?

The set is especially suitable for children from 24 months who are beginning to imitate adult routines more actively. It can be combined with a children’s play kitchen, wooden pretend food, toy dishes, pans or a play shop.

To keep the play engaging, let the child decide what to “cook” with the eggs – breakfast, cake, pancakes or a completely imaginary dish. Open-ended role play is especially valuable for encouraging creativity and independent thinking.

Durable wood for long-lasting play

The eggs are made from wood, a durable and tactile material well suited to children’s toys. Unlike disposable or fragile accessories, wooden pretend food is designed for repeated use and can remain part of a child’s play kitchen for years.

SMALL FOOT places strong emphasis on functional construction, thoughtful design and the use of wood as a key material across its toy collections.

The product is intended for children from 24 months. All packaging materials should be removed before use, and the manufacturer’s safety instructions should be followed.
