ORANGE TOYS Marshmallow the Sheep soft toy in a peach hat, 20 cm

A favourite soft toy earns its place through everyday moments: being tucked under an arm, listening to a whispered secret or receiving a carefully arranged blanket. Marshmallow the Sheep brings a soft, textured coat and a peach knitted hat to those small rituals. At 20 cm, this cuddly companion is a manageable size for play at home and trips to visit family.

Gentle colours, textures worth exploring

Marshmallow combines a light, curly coat with a beige face and paws, little ears and a knitted pompom hat. The peach shade adds warmth to the design, while the contrasting plush and knit textures invite children to explore through touch.

This soft toy lends itself to open-ended imaginative play. Your child can decide whether Marshmallow is shy or adventurous, choose a favourite activity and invent a story around it. There is room for independent choices, changing ideas and new adventures each day.

From pretend tea parties to a homemade farm

For younger children, play begins with touching and holding the sheep alongside an adult. As their interests develop, Marshmallow can take part in different activities:

• Caring play: prepare a little bed, tuck the sheep in or pretend to make breakfast.

• Farmyard building: create an enclosure with blocks, turn a piece of fabric into a meadow and introduce other toy animals.

• Role play: host a tea party, take an imaginary walk or help Marshmallow find the way home.

• Shared storytelling: take turns adding an event and discover how the story unfolds together.

The same familiar toy can remain relevant as play develops, becoming a character with its own voice, relationships and adventures.

Finding words for feelings

A toy character can offer a gentle starting point for conversations about experiences children find difficult to explain. “Marshmallow doesn’t want to visit today” or “The sheep feels excited” gives a parent an opportunity to listen, ask questions and help name a feeling.

Inventing dialogue gives children practice forming sentences, asking questions and putting events in order. Moving the sheep, seating it at a pretend table and covering it with a blanket involve hand coordination. Playing together also creates opportunities to listen, negotiate roles and make room for someone else’s ideas.

Soft materials and care for continued use

Marshmallow’s textile material is 100% polyester, with artificial fur and knitted fabric used in its construction. The filling contains polyester fibre and polyethylene pellets, while some details are plastic.

The toy can be handwashed at 30°C. Following the manufacturer’s care instructions helps preserve its appearance as it continues to take part in everyday play.

Suitable from birth

The manufacturer lists Marshmallow as suitable from birth (0+) and confirms CE marking on the product page. ORANGE TOYS also states that its toys meet the European EN 71 toy safety standard. Follow the care and use instructions on the product label.

A keepsake with a connection to 2027

Marshmallow belongs to the Symbol of the Year 2027 collection, whose story associates goats and sheep with gentleness, patience and curiosity. These qualities add a thoughtful sentiment to a baby gift or a present for a child’s first Christmas.

The collection is scheduled for a single production run, with no repeat manufacturing planned. This makes Marshmallow a possible birth-year keepsake that can also be enjoyed through everyday play.

Designed in Latvia, with character in every detail

ORANGE TOYS has been designing soft toys in Latvia since 2005. Its in-house designers give each character an individual appearance, a name and a story that children can develop through their own play. Marshmallow reflects this approach through gentle colours, tactile textures and a distinctive peach hat.

The company states that it follows fair working practices and does not use child labour. Its design approach centres on creating recognisable companions with whom children can build a lasting emotional connection.
