The Almond Cream edition introduces a new upholstery colour: a very light, warm beige with subtle almond, natural wool and pale camel undertones. It is softer than classic beige and warmer than off-white. The pronounced ribbed corduroy upholstery gives the monochrome surface depth and makes the bed feel tactile rather than visually flat.

The textile cover is removable and can be hand washed at 30°C. For everyday marks, the surface can also be cleaned locally with water, a mild household cleaning product and a soft sponge.

This matters particularly with upholstered children’s furniture: a beautiful pale colour is only genuinely practical when the textile has been selected with regular family use and cleaning in mind.

The use of recycled polyester also gives an existing synthetic raw material another lifecycle. Combined with replaceable, maintainable textile surfaces and a design intended to remain useful for several developmental stages, this is a more considered approach than treating a child’s first bed as short-term furniture.

What the safety documentation actually tells you

For children’s furniture, broad lists of certificates are less useful than knowing which standards relate to the materials actually used.

CertiPUR-US® for the foam materials, covering requirements relating to emissions and restricted substances for indoor use.

ISO 9001 for the quality-management system used in production, supporting controlled and consistent manufacturing processes.

FSC certification is not relevant to the construction of this model because OMÉ does not use a wooden structural frame. Likewise, EN71 and CE should not be added simply because the furniture is intended for children; those markings apply to specific regulated product categories and should only be claimed where formally applicable.

That distinction matters. Responsible children’s furniture should be described according to the standards it genuinely meets rather than by accumulating unrelated certification terminology.
